Yeah, visually it looks like they are going all out. And I love the way they copy iconic scenes from the anime.
The story worries me a little though.
Seems like they are giving her a Jason Bourne motive... as in "the bad government brain washed me in order to make me work for them.... who am I?" The Motoko we know and love from the anime know exactly who she is. Her concern is more about "what" she is.
This could indicate that the writers are dumbing down the story because they doubt that the audience can handle the original existentialistic theme. Instead we may get a run-of-the-mill conspiracy/revenge drama.
Also: Boobs ftw!
