Ah alright. Odd, I'll definitely keep an eye on those two things in my future testing.
As for the look of the app, UI Redesigns and layouts are by far the easiest parts of doing a PC/Phone app. The design and look doesn't need to be the same across platforms and I have the project setup in a way which allows me to make those changes without affecting the stability of the program.
If I was to go a new skin route (Light/Dark), that would take a bit longer as I would have to change my templates to work with the new color scheme options, If I went an image background route, that would take the least amount of time to add, though I would have to find and edit pictures.
Those sound like great options for Cortana. I'll try putting those into the next update wave.
As for the companion app, As long as its set as a background provider, and as long as its background task is allowed to run, it should be updating at least a couple times per day (depending on when your tasks run, ect). You can see when it last updated at the bottom of the General pivot within the app. It is a relatively easy addition though, so I'll add in the ability for you to set some of the auto-update settings.
So my current plan for the Companion App is
- Time Interval and other Auto-Update settings
- The ability to set an ignore list on titles
- The ability to set to the lockscreen the blue Anitro Logo
- The ability to view a grid of all images to choose from.
- View the next image before setting
How does that sound?
